Focused practice makes it easier to understand what you are learning. A clear plan also gives you something useful to discuss with your instructor.

Start with a specific focus

Tell your instructor which situations feel difficult. Work together on an achievable goal for the session, rather than expecting to solve everything in a single lesson.

Ask for useful feedback

Ask what you did well, what needs attention and what a better approach would look like. Specific feedback is more useful than judging the whole session as good or bad.

Reflect after the lesson

Write a short note about your focus, the feedback you received and a question for next time. Bring that note to your next discussion with the instructor.

Keep the next step realistic

Progress depends on your starting point and the skills you are developing. Discuss lesson planning and readiness with the school, without treating a particular number of lessons as a guarantee.
